Popping the question [Updated]

These are the various ways/scenarios we asked special persons close to our hearts to be a part of our wedding party.

May 12, Sunday, I called for a special meeting with the “Flypz ‘not mentioning any agenda. We met at Starmall, SJDM so that one of my friends could join us. We assembled at Jollibee, them, being the usual curious asked me what’s all about. So I handed them the box I specially made for them. To see them happy and make them feel special is my objective. And so I think I won that purpose.

May30, I invited Angge to have breakfast. When I handed him the envelope he asked me why I didn’t get him in my entourage, maybe he thought it’s an invitation already. He was surprised and I know he’s happy but he’s just concealing it. It’s a good feeling also that I have someone to talk to about wedding preparation outside w@w. Yes, he is getting married too.

Finally! R and J Monogram

I have been quiet for days because we’re finishing our WYBs. A little more polishing and it’s ready for distribution. Yey! 🙂

For the meantime, I want to share with you our official monogram. From my past post, I mentioned that we tried to come up with our own own design monogram. I have posted samples but are not yet final.

At first, we thought that this is the best that we can do.

The next day, I found it too “airy” so I tickled it a little.

And voila! Here’s the product of my fidgetiness.

I am so green!

Since I was kid, I was so addicted with color green! Ask my family and friends, they will never go wrong.

And, obviously, because this is my favorite color it will be our motif.

It’s past 7:30am, and I ‘m still here in the office. So guess what keeps me staying? Aside from, finishing our “will you be” invites, I found this site where there are lots of green hues and shades!

Preparing for our E-session with Bryan Yap

Since our practice prenup (as we call it) will be a month away. We tried to avoid procrastination. We’re planning to have a picnic-travel theme. Since Richgold, our caterer, will be lending us some of their travel props (ang bait talaga!) we just have to worry about minor things or just add some props.

For our first project, it’s a DIY Cardboard letter. I got the tutorial here. We didn’t follow every steps there ‘coz we did what’s convenient for us.

He suggested we put something inside for a more sturdy base. But I rejected the idea. I think the glue gun is enough.

So here’s the most fussy part.

We even used flashlight for us to see it clearly.

Here’s the almost finished product. Have to cover it with specialty paper.

We used ivory colored specialty paper because I’ll be putting buttons and lace in it pa. To finish the sides pa.

Update (not real time): We did this for two weeks.

Now for our second task, since we have a free time one Saturday, we did an ocular at Parks and Wildlife. I have been to PAW when I was in elementary because it is where we are holding our Sports fest so I suggested it as a possible prenup venue. Anyway, I was not mesmerized with the place. It is just like a typical greenery scene with a lagoon view. There’s also a mini zoo there but we weren’t able to visit it. I was expecting more I think. Now, our solution is to give it a kick with the setup and props we’re planning to do.

Good thing there’s an ongoing photo shoot and this gave me an idea.

Actually, the place is not bad, maarte lang ako because I just wanted something different. Lol

Well, I just have to trust Bryan Yap to do some wonders with the place. 🙂

Our first DIY: Success or Fail?

We’ve tried a hundred times conceptualizing our monogram. Since we’re having a music theme for the reception, our first thought was we’re having a monogram with elements of music. Our top choice is to have a grand staff with G-Clef in it.

Here’s what Rey have in mind.

Rey has done a lot but this is our top choice, we just need to find someone who can layout it for free.

So to cut the story short, we can’t find someone or should I say did we ever attempt to look for someone? Anyway, good thing I chanced a monogram maker in the net.

Since it’s holy week we took advantage of the free time to noodle around on the site. By the way, we let go of the idea of having a music element in our monogram for a more formal look.

It’s not for free, actually, but we can do some magic with Photoshop, right? 😀

These are not final. But I love what we did. For us who are not so artistic it’s really an accomplishment. More so, we can say that “hey we did this and the concept is ours”.
