Second detailing with Richgold Weddings

It’s quite weird that I am writing a 2nd detailing with our caterer without a prequel to this. Lol. Sorry. Anyway, for the sake of having one I’ll just give a gist of what happened to our first detailing. Actually, if not because of Thoffy, our coordinator, we won’t be having a detailing that early. I thought that our detailing with Richgold will happen sometime in September 2013. Talk about procrastination. Well, ang totoo I don’t know that we can have a detailing as early as that. Kaya pala tuwing magkikita kami ni Jed eh tinatanong ako kung kelan kami magdedetailing. I was with Thoffy, my mom, my brother and of course Rey. It happened last November 22, 2012 before kami pumunta sa Baler (Thanksgiving Holiday). I can say that it is more of food tasting lang kasi our ideas are still scattered though we have showed some pegs of our visioned reception. But at least may nasimulan. Here are some of the pegs we showed them. By the way, for the reception, we want a music concert theme. And the motif is orange. Well, we don’t want the gowns of our entourage to match the table linens that’s why. And because I wanted an autumn theme for the church we connected it to the reception.

trusses for the couple’s stage

or guitar for backdrop (inspiration from Empress Schuck’s debut)

music sheet as place mat

for centerpiece; forgot what it’s called basta I like the idea

guitar centerpiece representing Rey’s hobby

scattered picks at the table

And here are the food that Chef Bryan served us.

pan seared fish with tomato salsa (recommended)

eggplant parmigiana (recommended) & roasted chicken with au jus sauce

sliced pork with pineapple and peppercorn

korean beef stew (thumbs up!)

roasted bar and mushroom fettuccini (not a fan of white sauce but this one’s good)

I know that hindi ako nagkamali ng pagkuha sa kanila kasi nagustuhan ni Thoffy ang food. 🙂 The detailing ended with Jed saying that he’ll get back to me regarding the styling. And he’ll request for a second detailing sometime in January with the stylist. =================================================== Fast forward February 24, 2013, our second detailing. Unfortunately, we haven’t done any guitar table centerpiece (dahil ang hirap!) which lead to changing our minds. Medyo naumay si Rey  sa gitara so he decided na ayaw na niya nun. Side kwento: nag-leave pa naman kami at nagpunta ng divi para sa DIY na guitar centerpiece but we ended up doing nothing. 😦 Moving on, our first agenda is with Carlo Verdadero, Richgold’s in house stylist. He discussed what the setup would be. Here is what he’s prepared for us, both are upgraded.

hmmmm bakit kaya niya ginawang orange yung gitara? Wala lang! haha…

But as I’ve said naumay na si Rey sa gitara so scratch na tong idea na to. Rey just wants a topiary for the centerpiece para medyo formal daw. Here’s exactly what he likes.

“Red roses dapat” – Rey

Ayun, so we discussed the pricing and ahem…ahem… It’s not that high compared to other stylist but we don’t know yet if we still have a budget for this. But Rey stiffly said that he wanted an upgrade styling for the reception. Sabi niya eh! We negotiated din some upgrade but Carlo cannot give us pure roses coz it’s pricey. We asked him also if he can do the styling sa church and he said yes. His rate is just like what Amante Fleurs (my prospect florist) quoted me. We haven’t concluded anything yet regarding the styling, let’s just see. On to the food tasting, this time I was with my MOHs. So happy that pumayag sila na samahan ako dito. My parents did not join us because they had their own errands for that day. Daddy waited for the dining chairs he ordered while Mommy was sick.

my girls busy sa pag-picture

We requested a specific food but they didn’t grant some of it because as what have Jed said they have a client prior to us and it was also the dishes served to them. Supposedly may bayad yung extra head aside sa couple but Jed kindly waived it. Here’s what Chef Bryan served us.

Fettuccine Puttanesca (recommended)

Penne Pomodoro

pan seared fish with mango salsa (recommended)

Others, I forgot to take a picture busy na sa pagkain, were Lumpia with deep fried wrapper (recommended), Beef skewer (thumbs up!), Pork belly something (I forgot the name) and Roasted chicken with au jus sauce (served during 1st detailing).

Again, I know hindi ako nagkamali kasi nagustuhan naman ng mga MOHs ko ang food. 🙂

I was so happy with the outcome of our detailing. Most of our requests were granted. They even gave us another freebie on top of the 5 freebies we got from them. How was that? Jed also suggested a cost-friendly way to serve food to the kids. I didn’t know it’s possible. Well, sa kanila lang siguro pwede yung ganun. Lastly, we got our contract na. I can say we are well taken care of by our caterer. 🙂

Sa sobrang busog namin we capped off the day with a milk tea from Gong Cha.

Special shout out to my MOHs, na hindi pa nila alam na MOH sila, thanks for coming with us on that day. I really appreciate it! P.S. My MOHs fitted an infinity dress at Cinderella to know if it will look good on them. What do you think? 🙂

HMU: Check!

Now, I believe that when something is taken away from you a better one is coming. Though I haven’t made any DP yet I claim her as my makeup artist. 🙂

Actually, she is suggested by our videographer. I trust their taste naman. And seeing her portfolios it’s not bad at all. Anyway, Rey said that if the base is good everything else follows. Ahem ahem! haha

What I like about her is she is so accommodating and mabait plus she gave me a dicounted rate and on top of that another discount and another upgrade. How was that?

So, move on to the next…

Gown fitting at RTW Gown Boutique

“What you see is what you get”. This is the edge of RTW gowns. Even though I already have a designer I decided to fit RTW gowns to know what type of gown best fits me.

Instead of going to Divisoria, which has a vast choices of RTW gowns, I decided to go to classy and imported (with less hassle) gown boutiques who offers this type of gowns.

Mi Sueno Bridal Boutique

Penthouse. The Athenaeum Building.160 LP Leviste Street, Salcedo Village  Makati City

What I like about their gowns is that it hid my flabby stomach without having a hard time breathing. I must promote that hindi basta-basta magagaya ang mga gowns nila. The fit is really different.Their gowns don’t have corset but have what they call a band, sorry can’t explain what it’s like but it doesn’t cover up your whole torso. Amazing noh?

Sorry I forgot the names of the gowns I tried on except for my top two choices which, later, I will show below. I wanted to post the pictures of sis Johan, who tried on some gowns too, but I think I need to ask her permission first.

So here are my top two choices.

First gown I fit, Onice by Ateller (left) P60,000.00 (this is discounted already); Third gown I fit, Pineda by Pronovias (right) P75,000.00 (discounted)

Freebies include secondary veil, cord and 2 pillows.

Anyway, here is the interior of Mi Sueno.

lots of choices!

The other side of the rack; That’s Pepper, one of the owners.

the fitting room

We finished off the day by having brunch at the Salcedo Market. Thanks Joed for joining us with the fitting.

Ivory and White Bridal Store

Excellent service for this bridal boutique. They have a Bathrobe ready (para hindi ka makitang hubo’t hubad) whenever you change gowns, a shoes that you can wear to complete your outfit, and a uniformed assitant. Also, their fitting room is large too. Plus their gowns are affordable.

Cerise P24,000.00

Jalene P24,000.00

Loraine P23,000.00

Regine P37,000.00 (one of my Mom’s and Rey’s fave)

Genevieve P20,000.00; best for Beach wedding

F

Felice P32,000.00 (Mom’s super fave); That’s Miles, the contact person

Dominique P22,000.00 (Mom’s super fave 2)

Pardon that some of the gowns are not photogenic coz it’s not my size. Their gowns are tempting because of the affordabilty. But as I have said I already have a designer.

They also sell bridal accessories like pouches, belts for accent, tiaras, headbands etc. Anyway, here’s their interior.

Most gowns are sold kaya kokonti ang nasa rack, but new stocks are coming the following week daw.

Finished off the day with a Mongolian Buffet at Sweet Inspirations.

P.S. I have to say this, customer service at this resto is VERY POOR.

A reason to scrimp on HMU

Me still can’t get over not getting Mayone, Rey said some encouraging words that I think will work on me. J

These are from our gtalk conversation, my replies deleted.

inner glow nya yun

kasi ikakasal sya e

awwww…

Eto pa humirit pa ng last si kuya bago umuwi…

Rey:  ok

hmpf

sige na alis na ko

basta isipin mo yun, maganda ka

hindi mo kelangan ng bonggacious na makeup

maganda ang base mo

Rey:  kahit nga pulbos lang e

i’m sure basta tama ang gawing makeup sayo magglow ka

Rey:  kahit pa average ang mag makeup sayo

Rey:  wag lang itiman yung mata mo

kasi hindi bagay sayo

pero maganda ka pa rin

hindi nga lang bagay

me:  ok

I have no plans of getting her (though I want her) because it seems that her rate is too high and I’m somewhat takot kasi I think she’s masungit (I was wrong though).

Last Saturday, while browsing the Bridalbook, I saw her packages posted and it’s not that high naman pala. During our lunch with other w@wies, Joed suggested that she will contact Mayone for me. Lucky me that a bride on my same date cancelled her booking thus giving me a chance to get her. At this rate (P—-) airbrush and retouch is already included.

Sunday, I contacted Mayone for some clarifications on the packages. I was having hesitations because of some items not included.

Monday, she contacted me coz someone on my same date is inquiring for her service. I told her that I’m not decided yet and if that bride will pay right away I will give in.

Last night, I checked reviews for her then I decided to get her. What made me decide is I read that she goes the extra mile for a bride. And I didn’t have any problems regarding communication with her kasi she’s accommodating and replies fast.

This morning, I immediately texted her asking if that bride did get her.

So it’s doomsday for me.

Anyway, here are some of her works.

Disappointment with a w@w favorite supplier

So after a week, I still haven’t got a reply from this w@w favorite. I know she’s good and very loved but it doesn’t give her the right to snob inquiries especially if the day is already booked. I have seen her updating her status from time to time but no reply for me. I’ve been itchy knowing if our date is still available (coz I really want her) and if not for a helpful w@wie I wouldn’t know.

Special mention: Bro Nich! Thank you! 🙂 Take note he just got the answer from the husband and not from w@w favorite herself.

So next step, move on to the next in the list…

(PM me if you’re itching to know who she is. :D)
